Impact of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy on counseling self-efficacy: A randomized controlled crossover trial

• Mindfulness training shows promising effects on counseling self-efficacy. The are proven by psychological and neuro-physiological evidence. Various facets of mindfulness contribute to self-efficacy differently. Stress reduction self-compassion enhance challenges To investigate the impact a structured eight-week mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) program among trainees. Undergraduate trainees were randomized an MBCT group (n = 25) or waitlist control with crossover trial design. Psychological measurements regarding mindfulness, empathy, self-compassion, distress, as well measures including frontal midline theta activity, respiration rate, skin conductance taken at baseline (T1), after intervention (T2), six-month follow-up (T3). could make significant positive changes in stress reduction, this being backed up both evidence T2. However, such differences between two groups had greatly subsided which carry-over effect marked improvement noted study group, respectively, T3.
